This enigmatic mid-century fiberglass sculpture presents a striking profile form mounted on its original wooden base, blending modern materials with an unmistakably folk-art sensibility. Rendered in pale, stone-like fiberglass, the work suggests a human visage emerging from motion. Its rear surface is carved into rhythmic, wind-swept ridges that evoke movement rather than anatomy.

The most compelling aspect of this piece is its intended use as a wall sculpture. The sculpture is deliberately bisected along its vertical axis, revealing a hollowed rear plane fitted with an integrated hanging wire. This structural decision makes clear the artist’s intention for the work to function as a wall-mounted relief rather than a freestanding object, reinforcing its dialogue between sculpture and architectural ornament.

There is also a quiet nod to René Lalique’s iconic Victoire (Victory) hood ornament (c. 1928). Instead of polished glass and aerodynamic refinement, the artist opts for hand-worked texture and mass, translating speed and air into layered striations and softened geometry.
